Mystic Café Signup Sheet and Guidelines

We are excited to provide the opportunity for you to share your talents at SoulCall Global’s Mystic Café Variety Show and Open Mic, Friday October 18, 2024. It’s going to be a lot of fun! Please read the following guidelines and then return the completed form.


GUIDELINES

  1. We can only guarantee a time slot to perform to acts that preregister. Registration cuts off the day before, Thursday, October 17, 5:00 pm. Registrations will not be accepted on the day of the show, October 18.

  2. All acts are limited to only 5 minutes – strict. After 5 minutes the sound will be cut off. That 5 minutes includes everything you do from the time your slot starts, which could include; plugging in, adjusting instruments and mics, talking to the audience, etc. Make sure that your performance will be within the 5 minute limit. Avoid the use of elaborate equipment or props, as we don’t have time for them.

  3. The maximum number of individuals in all but two time slots is limited to three people. Due to time constraints, we can only accommodate two bands. First bands to register gets the time slots.

  4. All types of performances are accepted, musical, stand-up comedy, whatever. The performances must be family appropriate. No adult themes, profanity, or nudity.

  5. A keyboard musician will be set up and available to accompany acts if needed. You will need to provide sheet music and the appropriate key.

  6. Once you have submitted the completed form, you will be contacted to confirm that you have (or have not) been accepted and when is your time slot to perform.

  7. If for some reason, you are unable to keep your commitment to perform, please be courteous and contact Bob Lipetz, 614-906-4350 bob@debchi.com ASAP to make your time slot available to those on the waiting list. No shows will be banned from future events.

  8. Check in - You need to arrive with your gear between 6:15 and 6:45 pm, even if your time slot is later. Check in before 7:00 pm, so we know you are there. There is a room in the back of the Fellowship Hall where you can stash your gear and tune up.

  9. Have fun! This is an evening to share your gifts to the world. We can’t wait to hear you!

Sign Up Form

We will be providing an PA system with an attending sound man. You will not need to bring amplifiers, microphones, or music stands, (unless you really love your music stand). Completing the signup form will help the sound man provide you with the best experience. We also have a piano accompanist available, if you provide sheet music.
